Animated children's feature directed by Don Bluth and featuring the voice talents of Phillip Glasser, Cathianne Blore and Dom DeLuise. The Mousekewitz family of mice live happily beneath the home of a human family in Russia until the terrible day when soldiers burn both homes to the ground. With no home left for them, the Mousekewitzes begin an arduous journey across the world to reach the fabled haven of New York City. Fievel (voice of Glasser), the youngest member of the family, ends up being separated from the rest in the midst of a storm at sea. After washing up on the shores of America Fievel must explore the daunting city of New York and reunite with his family.
