British romantic comedy in which a lesbian couple must make allowances for non-conventional family planning when one of them becomes pregnant to their neighbour. While career-focused Olivia (Lucy Punch) decides that she must take the next step in her life before turning 40, her younger girlfriend, a free-spirited artist named Alex (Faye Marsay), has her doubts about becoming a mother. When Olivia enrols the couple into an insemination programme, Alex has no choice but to step up to the plate, but matters become complicated when Alex falls pregnant to her womanising neighbour, John (David Tennant). As Olivia soon falls pregnant also, can the two women find a place for John in their soon-to-be family?
