Their lives are the story of the encounter between different cultures: Aisha, the smallest of the family, experiences integration, school, friends, the Italian boy, painful but possible; Aunt Barni has lived in Italy for years, but she is still tied to the traditions and values of Somalia. The most painful experience, however, is that of Rhoda: she arrived in Italy as a teenager, she will live a tormented youth, painful experiences, until her return to Somalia, a physical journey but also an inner journey of reconciliation with herself.
