Summary

Music, girlfriends, nostalgia, memories of old loves, art, analysis, group therapy. The life of Lily, Italian in Paris, is full and dense, but when the man with the giraffe-printed tie arrives, Philippe, a doctor who loves her well, makes room for him too. And she impulsively invites her mother, the exuberant Teresa, to spend Christmas together with the idea of filming her in a video which is her next artistic project. Mom arrives with a bag full of CDs, retrospective thoughts about her, the usual veiled reproaches. It takes Lily a moment to regret having allowed her to invade her life, her home. "As a little girl I thought: if I have to become like she wants me, I won't survive. I wanted to be free." Will she succeed? Philippe is a wonderful man: but he is married. It will be the start of a another uphill story? Maybe. But there are conversations that at some point can no longer be avoided. And so, anxious and reckless, Lily faces them, against the backdrop of a winter Paris with her Cézanne-colored skies. E invita d'impulso la madre, l'esuberante Teresa, a passare il Natale insieme con l'idea di riprenderla in un video che è il suo prossimo progetto artistico. La mamma arriva con la borsa piena di CD, i suoi retropensieri, i rimproveri velati di sempre. Lily ci mette un attimo a rimpiangere di averle concesso di invadere la sua vita, la sua casa. "Da ragazzina pensavo: se devo diventare come mi vuole lei non sopravviverò. Io volevo essere libera." Ci sarà riuscita? Philippe è un uomo meraviglioso: però è sposato. Sarà l'inizio di un'altra storia in salita? Chissà. Ma ci sono conversazioni che a un certo punto non si possono più eludere.
