"Much research and thousands of hours have been spent by hundreds of people in search of more information regarding the background of Thomas Moore. The Thomas Moore I speak of was born, presumably in London, about 1654. His father's name was Edward Moore who was a Master Cannoneer in Dover Castle. Thomas Moore worked for Hudson Bay Company from 1671 to 1678. It is also known that Thomas Moore married Jeanne Lemelin in Quebec City in 1690. By now, many of you recognize this Thomas Moore I depict as that elusive ancestor of yours for whom there is hardly any further information to be found other than what you already have known for years. I am an historian and have spent several years studying the historical events surrounding Thomas Moore, his father Edward Moore and the politics of their day. Luckily, we do have a small number of informative documented facts which will enable and guide us to establish our common ancestor's history. It wasn't until genetic DNA tests and more specifically Genetic Genealogy studies came into existence that I was pointed in the right direction as to where to look for answers to my questions. The introduction of DNA testing and Genetic Genealogy have become game changers for solving the mystery of one's ancestry. Once there was a specific location to look towards, the answers seemed to all fall into place. The reader will be taken back in time to proceed along a path that the ancestors of Thomas Moore would have taken. My sound and reasonable theory will illuminate the history which was taking place throughout the years and, with the help of genetic genealogy, show the evolution of this Moore family who ended up as French Canadians along the St. Lawrence River Valley of Canada." --
