Summary

The protagonist of the book is the Lviv commissar Adam Vistovych, who is considered one of the best investigators in Galicia. But the further he delves into this case, the more he understands that everything in this investigation is unusual, and most importantly, it goes far beyond the borders of Lviv and even beyond the borders of the empire itself. Thus, Vistovych ends up in Prussia. It is there that officials, businessmen and even the mafia become allies to resist the influx of Russian spies. Completely unexpectedly, strange cases begin to occur, namely in Berlin, Posen and other cities, members of this syndicate die.
