Raspberry Hill is a sanatorium for people suffering from lung diseases, built deep in the forest. Many of the children treated there come from poor, large families. Such is Stina - very sick and living with her war-widowed mother and five siblings on Moryashka street in the southern part of Helsinki. The sanatorium looks like Stina of a castle - so vast and desolate, filled only with long echoing corridors. Such a lonely place until one night Reuben shows up. The boy from the mysterious twenty-third ward starts visiting her when it's time to sleep and taking her on nighttime expeditions. Gradually, Stina realizes that not everything is completely as it should be. Why don't they answer the letters from home?? What really happened to the long-burned east wing? Why do all the sisters look so scared? And what is Reuben trying to warn her about?.
