Biography/History:
David Bathurst was born in Guildford in 1959 and has enjoyed writing and walking throughout his adult life. He has walked all the principal long-distance paths in Great Britain, and his guide to walking these routes, entitled The Beaten Track, was published by Summersdale in 2001. He has written nine other books, including a guide to walking the coastline of Sussex which appeared in 2002, as well as books on children's literature and the work of magistrates' courts. David's chief claim to fame is his recitation of all four Gospels from memory in a single day in 1998, and he recited the Book of Psalms, the longest book of the Bible, from memory in one day in 2002. By profession he is a legal adviser to the magistrates sitting at Chichester and Worthing. He lives in Barnham in West Sussex with his wife Susan and daughter Jennifer Rose.
