Summary

England 1760-1815. With the advent of the Regency period the Blackadder family fortune has rather plummeted. Edmund Blackadder, butler to the Prince Regent, veers from calamity to disaster with very little in the way of constructive help from either his imbecilic lord and master the Prince Regent or the mouse-brained Baldrick. Here, Blackadder single-handedly brings about the election of Mr S. Baldrick MP, gets as far as 'aardvark' in his attempt to re-write Dr Johnson's English Dictionary and battles with French Revolutionaries before killing the Scarlet Pimpernel. Ever ready to serve, Blackadder woos a wife for his master, confounds anarchists and actors who sip coffee while scheming of revolution and stands in for the Prince in a fatal duel with the brutal Duke of Wellington. Rowan Atkinson stars as Blackadder in Richard Curtis' and Ben Elton's award-winning comedy in which, ably hampered by Tony Robinson as the loyal Baldrick, he wreaks havoc throughout the centuries.
