In plin Razboi Rece, doi romani fugiti din tara ajung in mijlocul desertului algerian, unde primesc o misiune importanta: sa participe la pregatirea unor teste nucleare subterane desfasurate de armata franceza. Cei doi sunt martori ai unei detonari in timpul careia o galerie cedeaza, iar gazele radioactive scapa la suprafata. Pe langa aspra clima sahariana, romanii au de infruntat si alte pericole. Printre contractorii civili umbla zvonuri ciudate despre experimente care-si propun deschiderea unor gauri de vierme, accesarea unor tuneluri prin timp si spatiu, iar din fascinatia pe care o sadesc asemenea teorii in cei prea temerari se pot naste primejdii inimaginabile. Totodata, exista oameni care de sute de ani isi duc zilele in desert, iar cultivarea unei relatii cordiale cu ei se dovedeste a fi o provocare pentru europeni. Desi atat de multe lucruri ii separa, militarii francezi, fugarii romani si beduinii arabi gasesc ceva ce-i uneste: umanitatea. Vor purta razboaie, vor uri, vor face experimente nebunesti, dar, pe langa toate acestea, vor tese si povesti de dragoste. Si, orice ar face, isi vor cauta neincetat locul si menirea. Unii dintre ei le vor gasi.In the midst of the Cold War, two Romanians fleeing the country arrive in the middle of the Algerian desert, where they receive an important mission: to participate in the preparation of underground nuclear tests carried out by the French army. The two witness a detonation during which a tunnel gives way, and radioactive gases escape to the surface. In addition to the harsh Saharan climate, Romanians also have to face other dangers. Among civilian contractors there are strange rumors about experiments that aim to open wormholes, to access tunnels through time and space, and from the fascination that such theories plant in the too daring, unimaginable dangers can arise. At the same time, there are people who have been living their days in the desert for hundreds of years, and cultivating a cordial relationship with them is proving to be a challenge for Europeans. Although so many things separate them, the French military, the Roman fugitives and the Arab Bedouins find something that unites them: humanity. They will fight wars, they will hate, they will do crazy experiments, but, in addition to all this, they will also weave love stories. And, whatever they do, they will incessantly seek their place and purpose. Some of them will find them.
