The reality of adults is completely different from the reality of children - that's what Paul thinks about on the last day of November, while waiting for his father in front of the "Mansion of Hope" asylum, which is about to be closed. The fact that he has to take home the old man diagnosed with dementia is just another challenge in a long line: the divorce from Madalina, the loss of his mother, the strange bond with his daughter who went abroad, the paradoxical relationship with his ex-wife, who asks him to recover the dog held hostage by the lover she betrayed. On top of all this, with the death of his father, Paul reveals a secret from the past that has disturbed everyone's lives. The protagonist tries his best to face all these challenges, finally managing to escape from the trap of his own morality. A sinuous novel, which follows the inner complexities of the man who feels his life passing by him, with profound effects on the reader.
