Edward Curling was a merchant, and Fourth Consul to the Netherlands during the span of the diary, from where he travelled to Hamburg and Bremen in Germany, and later travelled all over France, Italy and the low countries. He donated the 2 painted windows of medieval glass to Canterbury Museum; and the diary gives sketches, description and dimensions for all of the panels.Typescript of an article which appeared in the journal 'Cantium' in the summer of 1971.
