The opening was especially funny and entertaining, if you are doubtful about tackling an "intellectual" book, then at least give the opening a try. Like me, you might get drawn in and find the whole novel very interesting. It's one of the best novels I've read in the last few years.

Maybe, a pseudo intellectual will enjoy it, will brag about how it isn't easy or approachable. Sometimes, you just want a good book to read and while away a Saturday afternoon. This is not that book.To someone who just wants to be entertained, it's all over the place. There's no cohesion, no thread, no clarity about what time period... in brief, there's nothing to make me want to pick it up again. Only the second book in many decades I can't be bothered to finish.
