Savage, Toni2006

Toni Savage was evacuated from London in September 1939. She was to spend over four years in the Surrey countryside, living in a country mansion with seven other children, under the watchful eyes of Mrs Parrot, Miss Bailey and the governess. Although her life as an evacuee was often one of fun, it was lived in the shadow of war.
