Novel. As Christmas 2018 approaches, Doctor Paul Gachet takes his wife and daughter to explore Florence. While he burns to introduce them to the Botticelli, the charms of the old town and the Arno river, their stay is disrupted by the appearance of a Serbian performer, Marina Abramovic, through the streets of the city to the rooms of Palazzo Strozzi. Who is this suddenly omnipresent woman who upsets all the benchmarks of Paul Gachet and his family, abusing her own body to speak to a deaf and failing humanity? Orthopedic surgeon, Paul Gachet is loath to the artist's mutilations. But he is in spite of himself bewitched by his universe which, gradually moving away from a seemingly gratuitous violence, expresses a search for harmony with the other,in particular with her companion Ulay whom she embraces to suffocate him before tying her hair to hers or exposing her heart to the arrow of her bow. Two years after this Florentine appearance, Paul Gachet stumbled across an old photo of Marina A and Ulay entitled The Impossible Rapprochement. Taken in 1983 in Bangkok, it shows two beings who would like to touch each other but are mysteriously prevented from doing so and must stay at a distance from each other. As the planetary pandemic breaks out, Paul Gachet understands that the manifestations of this art were a form of alert which he finally grasped all the importance. An incentive to protect the other, to rebuild our societies on these two little words: "after you".suffocate before tying her hair to hers or exposing her heart to the arrow of her bow.
