A young boy is left with a growing problem when he finds a mysterious egg on the shores of Loch Ness, in this big screen adaptation of Dick King-Smith's children's favourite. One day while beachcombing beside his home on Loch Ness, Angus MacMorrow (Alex Etel) finds an egg that he's never seen before. After taking it home, the egg hatches, and Angus is amazed to find he is the proud owner of a 'Water-Horse', the loch's most famous, fabled inhabitant, which Angus decides to christen 'Crusoe'. But with his new friend growing ten times its own size every day, and some not too friendly locals to contend with, Angus soon has his hands full trying to keep Crusoe under wraps.
