Collection of colour episodes from the long-running BBC police drama that debuted in 1962 and ran till 1978. Set in the north of England in a fictional town called Newtown, the series aimed to bring to life the adventures of a new breed of policeman. With the solitary 'bobby on the beat' increasingly replaced by pairs of officers working together in patrol cars, the show followed these new, more mobile officers, as they sought to keep the peace. The stars of the show included James Ellis, John Slater and Douglas Fielding.
